Christmas Gallery Wall

This time of year means plenty of time with extended family and distant friends who aren?t regularly strolling down your hallway, so in order to impress the slew of people who will be observing your home, make sure you have everything decorative in order for the holidays. For assistance, we want you to consider the best painters Houston has to offer! We would love to help you prepare your house by aiding in touch ups before the relatives come over and comment on those unsightly holes or scratches!

This blog is to detail how to make a winter holiday themed gallery wall. It doesn?t have to be for Christmas, per say, but can be geared toward any holiday you like with a change of color. For this particular example we are using gold prints, but for Hanukah you could use silver or blue instead.

Method 1: Gold Foil

This method is the easiest one so I am listing it first. Initially, you will take an old dictionary or cardstock and use these for the backing. Next, you will buy some adhesive gold foil to cut into whatever shapes you want going over the paper (it can be a tree, Santa, a snowman, a snowflake, a gingerbread man, an angel, or even a holiday phrase). To cut it, scissors, an x-acto knife, or a digital cutting machine will suffice. You can purchase the foil in a printable version from Amazon or buy some at your local craft store. After it?s cut, peel the backing off and stick it on the paper and you?re all set! Then put the final product in a picture frame and hang it on the designated wall.

Method 2: Gold Leaf Sheets

Method 2 involves gold leaf sheets, which are more delicate than gold foil, so they are a bit trickier to work with. You can use the double-sided adhesive kind or a glue pen to draw the shape you desire. You want to cut it with the white side facing up and remove the shape from the sheet while the papers stay attached the sticky part in the center. Following this, peel off the yellow backing to stick the shape on your paper of choice with the white side still attached. Once you peel off the white paper you can lay the gold leaf on top of the adhesive sheet as flat as possible. To ensure it sticks, gently rub the foil until you can feel it adhering. Finally, remove the excess gold leaf from the edges and clean up the sides for crisp succinct lines.

Method 3: Gold Glitter

For method 3, you follow the same directions as above, but you may want to use a spare sheet of paper to rub the glitter enough to allow it to stick without creating a big mess for your fingers. Glitter has a tendency to get everywhere so be prepared to do a major clean up if attempting this method!

Method 4: Gold Paint Pen

The final method actually requires some artistic skill, so only choose this one if you think you can handle it or want to use a stencil instead. You can use a gold paint pen or a gold Sharpie and draw your image straight on the paper. Make sure to test the pen beforehand to get an idea of how the ink flows out first.

Regardless of how you decide to do it, having a fun Christmas gallery wall with frames of various shapes and sizes is sure to anyone into the holiday spirit!
